Timothy “Tim” Ball Death – Dr Timothy “Tim” Ball passed away on Saturday, Sept 24th with his wife of over 60 years at his side. He was a Climatologist. Tim Ball was 83 years old. According to a social media post by David Ball, at Tim’s request, there will be no public service. The family will gather privately to celebrate Tim’s life together in the beautiful home he built with his wife, at the table where we had the blessing to have shared many meals together. “One of Tim’s great joys was sitting back to watch his family talk, laugh & enjoy each other’s company,” David Ball wrote.
Who Is Tim” Ball?
Timothy Francis Ball was a professor at the University of Winnipeg’s Department of Geography from 1971 until his retirement in 1996. He was born on November 5, 1938. Then, Ball became very active in pushing the denial of climate change, delivering public speeches and writing opinion articles and letters to the editor for Canadian publications. He has been a member of energy industry-funded lobbying groups and has contributed to a website that denies climate change.
In 1984, Ball established the Rupert’s Land Research Centre, a historical society devoted to the promotion of the history of the region once known as Rupert’s Land. In addition, he served as its director until 1996. Society emphasized the utilization of the Hudson’s Bay Company Archives in particular. On the subject of historical climatology, Ball has produced a number of peer-reviewed articles, most of which relate to reconstructing temperatures in Canada during the past several centuries. In 2003, Ball co-authored the book “Eighteenth-Century Naturalists of Hudson Bay,” which was reviewed in the American Indian Quarterly in 2005 by Theodore Binnema of the University of Northern British Columbia and in the Auk in 2004 by Fred Cooke.
Former research fellow at the Frontier Centre for Public Policy, he has worked with the Friends of Science and Natural Resources Stewardship Project, which disputes the scientific consensus of major anthropogenic global warming. Additionally, Ball dismisses the scientific consensus on climate change, claiming that “CO2 is not a greenhouse gas that boosts global temperature.” Ball has indicated that he denies the scientific consensus on climate change and believes that global warming is occurring, but that human carbon emissions are not the reason. Ball opposes not only climate change caused by CO2 greenhouse gases but also the existence of the CO2 greenhouse effect.
Timothy “Tim” Ball’s Obituary will be released by the family…
