‘The Philadelphia theater world lost a giant today. Stage Manager extraordinaire, Lori Aghazarian. I was one of the many who had the good fortune to work with her. Lori was talented, professional, kind, demanding, generous, and flat-out hysterically funny. She is irreplaceable.” Lori Aghazarian was a kind, smart, and funny-as-hell soul. She was firm but kind. Friendly, but ever the professional.
Brett T Mapp said Lori Aghazarian was one of those people who made magic happen in Theater for years and in recent years she “showed us how to truly live.” She was a light in so many moments of many life. “So sad to lose Lori Aghazarian, a kind, smart, and funny-as-hell soul.”
Lori was one of the many people who had the opportunity to collaborate with a large number of others. Lori was extremely gifted, professional, courteous, demanding, and generous, in addition to being hilarious. She cannot be replaced in any way. “You were one hell of a stage manager, and an even better human being. I am so grateful you were Mark Gradys “work wife” so I didn’t have to go eat all the weird food (IMO) that you both loved.”
I am heartbroken today leading into rehearsals. Lori Aghazarian, I miss you so much. You have taught me so much about what it means to be a stage manager. Not just all of the technical elements of the job, but the humor and fun that you need to make it enjoyable.
