Joseph Messina Death – Law enforcement agencies are investigating a murder-suicide shooting in South Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, a man and his wife have died following an incident that happened in the area of South 11th Street in South Philly. According to reports, at approximately 2 p.m., police departments responded to a residential apartment where they say a man was involved in an altercation with his wife. Following the altercation, the man shot the woman multiple times before turning the weapon on himself.
The two individuals have been anonymously identified as Joseph “Joey” Messina, of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and his wife and mother of his children Margaux Leuzzi-Messina, of Philadelphia, PA. Joe Messina was an alumnus of South Philadelphia High School. He and Margaux Leuzzi has been married for over 12 years and have children together. The cause of the argument is not known at this time. Law enforcement agencies investigating this incident have not released any details in the investigation.
The wife and husband were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. The incident left the whole neighborhood in severe shock as some residents stated that they were unable to sleep due to the trauma caused by what happened in their small but beautiful environment.
