Greg Howard Death – Greg Howard, well known stick musician has passed away suddenly after suffering a brief illness. He was pronounced dead on Saturday, the 22nd of April 2023. The news of his death has left many shocked and heartbroken at his tragic loss. Since the news of his death surfaced, many have expressed great shock reacting to the news in many different ways but with one common feeling of heartbreak.
I’m heart broken to learn of the passing of a dear friend and truly gifted player. Greg Howard leaves us poorer for his departure. I’m glad we were able to spend a little time together last year. Bless you mate. x
Who was Greg Howard?
Greg Howard was a well known stick musician. “He was an innovative solo artist, collaborator, and one of the instrument’s preeminent teachers.” By manym he was regarded as a phenomenal musician and friend to several people. He was not only kind and decent, he was very generous individual. Greg was dearly loved, respected, and admired by musicians of all genres ranging from rock to jazz.
Along with Steve Adelson, Greg was known to be the earliest reference and inspiration many of young musicians for the Chapman Stick. He set the the bar really high from the beginning till the time of his death. “Greg has done more for the Stick community via promotion, education, and inspiration than any Stick player other than Emmett Chapman himself.” – said Brain Bagget in a recent publication paying tribute to the Chapman Stick legend.
What happened to Greg Howard?
According to reports reaching the public, Greg died after a long battle with an illness. The illness has been identified as Pancreatic cancer which sadly took his life at the age of 58. It is currently unknown what led to the deadly illness as not further details have been revealed. He will greatly missed in so many ways and his legacy will not only be remembered, It will also live on. His death is considered a great loss to the Stick Community.
