According to LaTimes, A traffic collision that killed a female pedestrian Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. is being investigated by the Huntington Beach Police Department. Authorities say a female pedestrian was struck and died in a traffic crash in Huntington Beach on Tuesday night.
According to a news release, Huntington Beach police responded to Beach Boulevard and Heil Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. to find a pedestrian in the roadway and a silver 2004 Toyota Corolla.

According to authorities, the Corolla was driving southbound on Beach when it struck the pedestrian who was standing outside the crosswalk. The Corolla’s 76-year-old driver remained on the scene and cooperated with officers. The crash was not caused by drugs or alcohol, according to authorities.
According to the agency’s Twitter feed, the event shut down the southbound lanes of Beach between Edinger and Heil avenues for almost four hours.
