Who was Adam Exton?

Adam’s early life was marked by an intense interest in politics, as well as a commitment to and enthusiasm for civic engagement and voluntary work in the local community. Adam was recognized as the Outstanding Young Liberal Volunteer of the Year in Ontario in the year 2012. He attended the University of Toronto and graduated with a degree in political science there. After gaining experience at many different tiers of government over the course of his career, Adam was finally promoted to the post of Director of Parliamentary Affairs at Health Canada.

Adam made his family incredibly proud of who he was throughout his life, and he will continue to do so as a result of the service he provided to both his community and his country. He was a member of the leadership team that directed Canada’s health response to the COVID-19 pandemic when it was one of the most difficult phases of the pandemic.

He was a highly effective and much admired campaign manager, and his efforts helped bring prominent figures including cabinet ministers and members of parliament to Queen’s Park and Parliament Hill in Ottawa. There would not have been a functioning government without his assistance in finding and vetting prospective ministers and members. More than that, he was one of the partygoers whose comic antics kept the atmosphere light and the smiles on everyone’s faces.

Adam Exton Obituary

The visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home in Barrie, Ontario on Monday, December 19th from 4pm-8pm. The funeral service, with reception to follow, will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 11am. Following the reception, Adam will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
