The lights have fallen for the family of a young beauty queen, brand ambassador, and social-political pundit, as they announce the death of Miss Alabama for America Strong 2021, Zoe Sozo Bethel, 27. The young beauty queen, died eight days after sustaining severe head and neck injuries in an accident.
Her mourning family said, “On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM Eastern time in Miami, Florida, our beloved Zoe Sozo Bethel passed from this life into the next as a result of succumbing to her injuries,” her family wrote on her Instagram account. “Zoe touched the hearts of many people and was actively affiliated with several organizations and groups.”
Four days before the demise of Bethel, her family had written that she had been in a car accident on Feb. 10 and was in a coma. “Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired and that she may not have much time left,” they wrote, calling it “an abrupt and very traumatizing situation for our family” and requesting privacy and prayers. With much hope that she will make it, they kept praying for her, until the unfortunate day.
Bethel was a political pundit for the conservative media network RSBN, as well as a brand ambassador for Turning Point USA and Liberty University’s Falkirk Center, which aims to infuse American politics and society with “Christian ideals.” According to her relatives, she was also a spokesperson for Students for Life and a member of Project Veritas.
Her colleagues, fans, and business associates are greatly mourning her. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend and reigning Miss Alabama for America Strong, Zoe Bethel,” the pageant announced on Facebook, changing its cover photo to a photo of her. “She was a light in this world, and we are heartbroken over the loss of such a bright and beautiful woman.” They added.
Brandon Tatum, a conservative political analyst, lamented Bethel’s death and expressed regret that she had not been able to realize her life’s ambitions. Tatum posted on Instagram beside a photo of the two of them together, “I’m surprised and devastated by the demise of such a great young lady.” “[Bethel] was a ray of sunshine in every room she entered.” She was stunning on the inside and out. I’ve always thought she had a lot of potential and wished for her to realize it. I’m sorry I didn’t do more to help. I wanted to help her succeed, but I knew the opportunity would present itself in due time. It never arrived.”
Turning Point USA tweeted, “We are privileged to have known Zoe Bethel,” alongside a video montage of her achievements. “She has always been a cornerstone in the Conservative movement, moving with grace and intelligence.” Many have been inspired by her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of people all across the world.”
