RUSSIA — After an attack by a drone from Ukraine that was directed towards Moscow, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, issued a threat on Sunday that “war” was on the way to Russia. The Russian government’s aggressive policies have been shown to be futile on the battlefield. The so-called “special military operation” that the Russian leadership anticipated would only last for a week or two has now been going on for 522 days. Today is the 522nd day of the operation. “Ukraine is getting stronger,” he declared in an address while he was visiting the city of Ivano-Frankivsk in the western part of the country.
Zelensky was quoted as saying, “Gradually, the war is returning to the territory of Russia – to its symbolic centers and military bases, and this is an inevitable, natural, and absolutely fair process.” Earlier on Sunday, Ukrainian drones were reported to have targeted the Russian capital city of Moscow. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, one of the drones was shot down in flight, while another two were brought down by Russian forces and crashed in the city.
Igor Konashenkov, a spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Defense, stated on Sunday that Russian air defenses were responsible for the destruction of 44 Ukrainian drones over the course of the previous day. Additionally, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine attempted to strike Crimean installations with a total of 25 drones when it was nighttime. Of those drones, 16 were shot down by air defense systems, and the remaining nine were neutralized by electronic warfare.
