Death – Obituary, A man discovered dead near Highway 3 has been identified, and a lethal overdose is suspected. Zachary – Dailey, 30, of Kitsap County, was discovered dead beneath a footbridge crossing Highway 3 in Bremerton on Tuesday. Though the cause and manner of death have not been determined, drug paraphernalia discovered near Dailey’s body suggests he died of an accidental overdose, according to Kitsap County Coroner Jeff Wallis.
Additionally, fentanyl, a strong opioid implicated in an apparent surge in fatal overdoses, was detected in a sample of body fluids.
On Monday, the staff dealt with two deadly overdoses of males who died after consuming fentanyl, a destiny Wallis suspected Dailey might face as well. In the case of Dailey’s death, Wallis believes fentanyl was implicated.
Dailey died between six and twelve hours before a passerby on the bridge noticed his corpse and reported it to Bremerton police at 7 a.m., according to Wallis. The Kitsap Way interchange lies south of the bridge.
