Two other partygoers injured in the brawl and a 17-year-old shot were sent to Marlborough Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Some teens and young adults refused medical attention.
The inquiry has led to three weapons-related charges against three persons, but none for Correia’s shooting, according to the Worcester District Attorney’s Office. A woman’s 21st birthday was celebrated. Someone told a Northborough police officer about a gun at the party around one in the morning. After that officer requested assistance, around twenty officers arrived at the apartment and heard shooting. Two teens were shot when police arrived. Two police officers took Correia down the hill to an ambulance, but he died at UMass Memorial.
Two other partygoers injured in the brawl and a 17-year-old shot were sent to Marlborough Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators found that other injured teens and young adults declined medical treatment. Neighbours say this community has been tranquil until recently. The homeowner attended the party, according to authorities, and was warned not to allow it. He may be prosecuted. Wallisom Texeira Da Silva, 20, of Hyde Park, Arnoldo Nogueira Filho, 19, of Marlborough, and Pedro Desouza-Passos, 27, of Rockland, were arrested for possessing weapons at Westborough District Court.
Texeira Da Silva was jailed without bond, while Nogueira and Desouza-Passos were on cash bail. Their counsel said that the prosecutors’ materials did not explain the stop of their car, suggesting that the prosecution could be dropped. The three gun suspects’ criminal complaints only said that a Southborough police sergeant was processing the vehicle, not how the New York-registered Nissan they were driving was stopped. According to the charges, the 21-year-old being celebrated at the party was driving when she and a female passenger got out. Three men were arrested.
prosecutors said ammo was found in two black purses, one a Gucci, in the back of the automobile. The charges alleged that a detective questioned who owned the bags after reading Miranda rights to all five vehicle occupants in English and Portuguese. Texeira Da Silva, Nogueira, and Desouza Passos were arrested for possessing guns without a license. Da Silva claimed to own the Gucci bag with a 9mm bullet and his Brazilian passport. Investigators found a gun without a serial number on a pathway at the party’s host property, according to the accusations. It allegedly belonged to Texeira Da Silva.
According to Worcester Assistant District Attorney Michael Luzzo, Texeira Da Silva and Nogueira are under ICE detainers. The statement of facts was “somewhat strange” because it failed to link the shooting to the traffic stop or explain police authorization to search the purses, according to Nogueira’s lawyer. The attorney for Desouza Passos argued that “the statement of facts does not indicate why the vehicle was pulled over or why it was searched.” He suggested dismissal. On May 20, all three guys were due in court.
