Woman killed in Miami-Dade’s Golden Glades after hit-and-run crash: Police stated that they were conducting an investigation into a tragic hit-and-run accident that occurred on Sunday morning in the northeastern part of Miami-Dade County.
Officers discovered the body of a lady in Golden Glades at about 5:25 in the morning, as stated by Detective Angel Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department. At the intersection of Sixth Avenue and 149 Street, law enforcement authorities blocked off a section of the street by parking both unmarked and marked vehicles, as well as by utilizing yellow crime scene tape and placards.
“An unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on NE 6 Ave approaching NE 149 Street when an adult female was attempting to cross east to west and was struck,” Rodriguez stated in a statement. “The incident occurred when the vehicle was approaching in the opposite direction.”
According to Rodriguez, the inquiry was being led by the traffic murder unit of the department. Close to the entrance that was closed to a BP gas station and the Tony Kabal Depot Fish Market & Cafeteria, two white police sports utility vehicles that were not marked obstructed a corpse that was located nearby.
Following the tragic hit-and-run accident, law enforcement personnel were reportedly looking for a burgundy Jeep Liberty, as indicated by traffic on the police scanner, which has not been confirmed. There was no confirmation from Rodriguez on the original alert to be on the lookout.
Rodriguez noted that the car that was believed to be the focus of the investigation departed the site without pausing to offer help or phone 9-1-1. An investigation by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue revealed that she had passed away at the scene of the incident. Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers may be reached at 305-471-8477.
