On April 18, 2023, around 12:30 p.m., a student at Willingboro High School was assaulted by another student. The Willingboro Township Police Department arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Cooper Hospital. According to police, the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, and he was eventually freed. A 17-year-old adolescent was arrested a few hours later when the Willingboro Police Department conducted an investigation. The adolescent was charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Weapon Possession, and Possession of a Weapon for an Illegal Purpose. The adolescent was processed and transported to the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.

Willingboro Township Police Department – *** Press Release Update ***

On April 18, 2023 at approximately 12:30pm, the Willingboro Township Police Department was dispatched to the Willingboro High School for a report of a student who was assaulted by another student. The victim was transported to Cooper Hospital where he was released after suffering non-life threatening injuries. An investigation was conducted by the Willingboro Police Department and a 17 year old juvenile was arrested a few hours later.
Arrested: 17 year old
Willingboro, NJ
Charges: Aggravated Assault, Possession of an Unlawful Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. The juvenile was processed and lodged at The Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.

Willingboro Township Police Department: Willingboro Township Police Department Acting Public Safety Director Ian Bucs would like to update the community on an incident that occurred at Willingboro High School on April 18, 2023. An assault occurred between two students which appears to be an isolated incident. The incident is currently being investigated by our detective bureau. The Willingboro High School will reopen tomorrow April 19, 2023. We are committed to working with the school district and community members to ensure our schools remain safe and secure for our students and staff.

We encourage anyone with information regarding this incident or any other criminal activity to contact the police immediately. We understand that incidents like this can be concerning for staff, parents and guardians, and students. However, we want to reassure the community that the Willingboro Township Police Department is taking all necessary steps to ensure our community is safe. Community members should expect an increased police presence in and around our schools. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we work together to maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone in our community.
