Walter Liss Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – Walter Liss, one of the most influential members of the ABC Owned Television Stations family, died on Monday. He was 78.
According to abc7chicago.com, Liss, a native of Philadelphia, began her career with the station group as a promotions manager for WPVI-TV, ABC7’s sister station.
His work was essential in modernizing ABC stations, in addition to co-writing the lyrics to “Move Closer to Your World,” Action News’ renowned theme song.
He went on to become general manager of KFSN-TV in Fresno before moving to WABC-TV in New York City, where he handled the production and nationwide syndication of “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.”
He was named president of ABC Owned Television Stations in 1999 and held the job for ten years.
