UPDATE: An investigation is currently being conducted into a double shooting that occurred at a Walmart in Georgia, which the police suspect was a murder-suicide. At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, two people, a man and a woman, were shot inside the business, according to Chief Mike Turner of the Hiram Police Department. According to the police, the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself.
According to Turner, the two victims were transported to a medical facility located outside of Hiram because the severity of their wounds prevented them from receiving treatment at a facility located within the city. They were on their way to the hospital when they both passed away. The chief of police stated that the man and woman knew each other but did not elaborate on the nature of their relationship. In addition, it is not yet known what precipitated the shooting incident.
Turner stated that he is still attempting to corroborate that information, despite the fact that the police suspect that the alleged gunman may have been an employee of Walmart. Due to the incident, Walmart was forced to close its doors. It is unknown when it will reopen at this time.
The investigation is still going on at this time.
Walmart Hiram Shooting – Two people have been shot at the Walmart in Hiram on Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 7:30 o’clock in the evening, it took place at the Walmart Super Center that is situated at 4166 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, on the corner of GA-92. According to the witnesses, they could hear gunshots and were instructed to get out of the business and leave the area.
According to the Hiram Police Department, the two victims were taken to a local hospital. It was unclear whether or not the police were searching for a shooter at the time.
