Virgil Stremler Obituary, Death – Virgil Stremler went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 3, 2022, after a 7 Year battle with esophageal cancer. He is remembered for his love of God and family, his quiet and humble mentorship through business and community, and entertaining conversation with that twinkle in his eye.

Virgil Allen Stemler was born on April 22, 1947 in Bellingham to parents Henry and Ann (Kuipers) Stremler. He graduated from Lynden Christian High school. Virgil married Cheeta Bosman on December 9, 1967.

Virgil served 4 years in the US Coast Guard stationed both in Angel Island and Crescent City, CA. He farmed at the Stremler Family dairy for 7 years before starting Stremler Gravel in 1984. Virgil enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, horse riding, being the camp cook, telling stories and spending time with family.

Virgil was an active member of Rotary and served as president. He was also involved in many churches serving in leadership. Virgil was active in ministry with Campus Crusades and as a youth leader at New Life Fellowship.
In retirement Virgil loved having the grandkids and their friends over making hay, raising beef, and chopping wood (firewood for sale).

Virgil will be greatly missed: by his loving wife of 54 years, Cheeta. Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren- Vince and Wendi (Easton, Soren and Camden). Kyle (Kaesey, ((Jordan, Raylan, Magnolia, and Marigolde Van Dyken)), Karley and John). Travis and Colleen (Hannah, Lauren, Henry, Cora) Lane and Heather (Avery, Allison, Annie). Foster children, Hillary Humphreys and family and Phillip Roberts and Family. His siblings Ferrel and Marilyn Stremler, Harlean and Larry Stegink, Aubin Stremler, Gretchen Van Dyken, Gordon and Marilyn Stremler. His in-laws, Terry and Gloria Bosman, Tim and Lori Bosman, Teresa Bosman, and Mitzi and Brent Baldwin. He was a favorite uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Cheeta’s parents Ruth and Shorty Bosman, foster sister Gloria, brother in laws, Arnie Van Dyken and Todd Bosman, sister in laws Ruth Stremler, and Norma Bosman.
There will be a graveside service at Lakeside Cemetery on Wednesday April 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Bryce Creek Church Camp on Heady Rd at 2:00 p.m. Audio will be available through your radio if you choose to stay in your car.
