Dalzell man, 55, critically injured after industrial accident in Peru

The person who died in a single-vehicle crash in Moline on Saturday night was identified by Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson on Monday. Victoria Dickey, 17, of Moline, was identified as the victim who died in the accident and an autopsy was done this morning. Following a single-vehicle incident in Moline on Saturday night, Gustafson stated the cause of death was a “traumatic blunt force event.”

After receiving a 911 call from a bystander who reported seeing a vehicle with lights on in the trees, Moline Police Department responded to the 1400 block of 35th Avenue at 9:47 p.m.,

It was discovered that an Acura passenger vehicle, occupied by two people, was going westbound on 35th Avenue at 14th Street when it veered off the road to the left.  authorities say the collision involved no other vehicles or people.

The vehicle then collided with a tree near the passenger door. Victoria Dickey, a front-seat passenger, was rescued by firefighters. The driver, a 22-year-old man, was brought to the hospital.
