The Santa Clarita Police Department says that officers were sent to the Valencia High School located at 27801 Dickason Dr Santa Clarita, CA, US 91355 after reports of a stabbing during an altercation between two students on campus. At the time this report was made, one student is reportedly injured and both students were transported to the hospital.

The Santa Clarita Police Department says that Valencia High School was placed on lockdown during the incident. The lockdown has been lifted as there is no threat to the school, according to the responding officers. A team of counselors is on-site to provide support to students and staff, the school announced. It is with sadness that we inform our community of a situation that occurred on the Valencia High School campus today where two students were involved in an altercation and injured. During the course of this altercation, one student was stabbed. Both students were transported to receive medical care and law enforcement is involved. There was a lockdown on the Valencia campus while first responders were on site. The lockdown has been lifted as there is no threat to the school. A team of counselors is on-site to provide support to students and staff.
The preliminary information that was provided by the Fire Department suggested that the pupil had been stabbed with a pencil; however, this has not yet been verified at the time of this report. The names of the participating students were not immediately made public by the officers who responded to the incident.
