Vale Frank Bibby – Vale Frank Bibby was reported dead. The news of his death has left family and friends in devastating state.
According to efnl.org.au, Vale Frank Bibby, Born in Perth in 1924, moved to Victoria in the 1940’s and soon getting involved in the local sporting competitions of the Eastern suburbs, becoming secretary of the EFNL (then Croydon Ferntree Gully Football League) in 1958, a position he held until 1966.
Bibby soon joined the Fitzroy Football Club committee in 1970 and became President in 1976, staying in the role until 1980, overseeing the 1978 Night Premiership and the clubs first finals appearance in 19 years in 1979.
Bibby was also heavily involved in cricket, serving as the RDCA Vice President from 1961 to 1967, as secretary of the Ringwood Cricket Club from 1967 to 1970 and President of the Ringwood Cricket Club from 1971 to 1975.
Bibby was awarded a number of honors for his work in sports administration, given EFNL Life Membership in 1969, Fitzroy Life Membership in 1979 and became a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 1980.
