At the time of this publication, the circumstances behind the deceased’s Cause of death had not been made public.
Mark M McLay, a Facebook user, shared the death news of the deceased through a Facebook post online saying, “Fly on Brother, see you on the other side. I feel a great loss as Uli Bohnet was kind and thoughtful, and if you where lucky you could call him a friend. His musical talent was solid and I have great memories in the studio at Velvet with many session players and Uli was my first call for bass as he was very reliable. Included in this staple of studio musicians we have lost also Gord Montgomery and Michael Fonfara, they all frequented the studio on many of the same sessions including George Semkiw producer. I am thankful to have the memories of laughter and songs from such grand human beings. BLESSINGS to Uli and his family and friends as he will be greatly missed by all.”
Derek Downham said, “I looked up to Uli Bohnet. He always treated me as an equal, but I always held him in highest regard as a bassist and more importantly, a friend. My admiration for him was something I never kept to myself, and I know I am not alone in those sentiments.”
My heart goes out to the family and friends during this difficult time. Please accept my condolence. Good people make their exit from this planet faster than evil people. Rest in peace.
