Tyler Herron Motorcycle Accident – On Monday morning the 19th of June 2023, a motorcycle accident occurred on Route 83 in Round Lake Beach, resulting in a critically injured man trapped under an SUV. Responding to the report of the accident were both the Round Lake Beach Police Department and the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District at approximately 10:52 a.m. Upon their arrival, fire crews found the motorcycle operator pinned under a car and quickly worked to free him from his entrapment.
How did the accident happen?
The victim was then rushed to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he remains in critical condition. A female passenger on the motorcycle was also transported to the same hospital but was listed in fair condition. Reports state that the 36-year-old man was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson southbound on Route 83 when he collided with the rear of a white 2022 Nissan. The impact caused him to veer into the oncoming northbound lane where he crashed into a silver 2008 Acura SUV.
The driver and passengers of the Nissan and Acura did not require hospitalization and have been working closely with police throughout the investigation. As for the crash itself, both the Round Lake Beach Police Department and the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County are investigating. As a result, Route 83 remains closed.
