A man and woman in their late 20s or early 30s were found dead in the house, according to local police chief James White. The police chief said the toddler was discovered in a bedroom after being smacked many times. The woman appeared to be the mother of the child, who was estimated to be between the ages of four and seven.
On Sunday, Detroit police Chief James White spoke with reporters about a triple fatal shooting at Evergreen Road and Fenkell Street, where the crime scene is located.
According to White, a family member who hadn’t heard from the victims in over a week went to the house on Sunday and discovered the back door open and likely kicked in. When a relative went inside, the bodies of the adults were discovered. The youngster was shot to death in the bedroom
He stated that it was unclear whether or not a robbery had taken place. Hence investigations have been going on, and officers were checking at cameras in the vicinity, he said, and he requested anyone with information to contact him.
“Every resource we have, as you can see from looking around, will be focused on apprehending the person who murdered this infant and the two people in this home,” he said.
