UPDATE: Turtle Creek Mall Shooting Today – On March 4, there was a shooting that took place in the Turtle Creek Mall in Hattiesburg, and it resulted in two persons being hurt. Just before 5:30 o’clock in the evening, officers responded to a call about shots being fired, according to officials with the Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD). They said that not long after that, someone showed up at a nearby hospital seeking treatment for what seemed to be a gunshot wound.
As people fled the scene following the gunshot, they ran into one another and injured a second victim. At the time that this article was published, there had been no confirmed arrests made, nor had a description of the gunman or suspect been made available. Videos shared on social media show police presence at the mall.
The identities of the victims were not immediately made public by the officers that responded to the scene of the incident. People are being warned to stay away from the area because authorities are going to conduct an investigation into what happened. Officials from the HPD stated that no one else was wounded and that additional information will be made public as soon as it is available.
