Death: After a car accident, a Henrico police officer died, and another officer and a man are in critical condition – In a three-vehicle incident on U.S. 301 on Wednesday night, one Henrico County police officer died while another officer and a third person were gravely injured.
According to richmond.com, Trey Marshall Sutton, 24, of Chesterfield County, was the officer who died. According to the police, he was hired in June of last year and graduated from the basic police academy in February of this year. Sutton was in-field training and assigned to the Patrol Bureau.
In a Facebook post, Police Chief Eric D. English wrote, “This is a tragedy for everyone, and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved.” “God bless Officer Sutton for his dedication to Henrico County and his chosen career of law enforcement.” Sutton was a well-liked member of his academy’s most recent class.
