He was confirmed dead by his beloved on Friday, through a social media statement that read “Yesterday was the worst day of my life. I lost a huge piece of my heart, my son. Travis, you will forever be my baby boy, who grew into an amazing, loving man! I hope you can rest peacefully now. Forever my hero, forever my heart. Your mama loves you always!?”

The circumstances surrounding the passing of Travis Cain were not made public by the family at the time of this publication. Meanwhile, the Special Forces Foundation in a social media statement said they mourn the loss of another brother to the residue of war. “Today we honor and remember Travis Cain. Travis left our world yesterday, June 1, 2023. We mourn the loss of another brother to the residue of war. To the demons that come with a lifetime serving at the tip of the spear. You will be missed and never forgotten.” The foundation wrote.
Who was Travis Cain?
Travis Cain was a native of Canon City, Colorado, and the beloved son of Terri Cain. He was a loving husband to Sarah Cain. He was quite an amazing person and had been so many people’s biggest support and bright light in this world. He was very knowledgeable, very kind, and empathetic. He liked to try new things and made friends with everyone he met. He welcome countless people who needed a kind hand, a listening ear, and an open heart.
He was a big, kind, funny, and wise man who was beautiful on the inside and out. He had the most beautiful smile and a kind heart, and his personality was so lively that it lit up a room. He will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic, for being an amazing husband and the best father in the entire universe, for his fun-loving and adventurous spirit, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Tribute to Travis Cain
Brian Whalen in a social media publication wrote “Travis, I always admired you, you were aggressive, capable, competent, and a born leader. You were respected by all around you, both young and old! You always spoke your peace without fear, you stood your moral high ground. I’m so sad and shocked to hear of your passing. Rest In Peace Brother. Till Valhalla De Oppresso Liber Travis Cain.”
Brittany Sugden wrote “Every ounce of love and strength is being sent to Sarah Dunn and Terri Cain. Travis Cain was a true hero. From being a great big brother to Sarah to an ACTUAL Superhero he was always the coolest. Your home was always filled with so much laughter, pranks, sarcasm, and love. It was truly one of my favorite places to be throughout high school. I will remember that laughter always.”
Brittany Sugden also stated that “I’m so very sorry. Travis, thank you for all the sacrifices you made for our country and for the freedoms we assume come so easily. Thank you for the burdens you carried while we remain so ignorant. We turn blind eyes. We pretend what happens in battle stays there. Please let this be a reminder that it does not. We HAVE to do better for our Veterans. Please say a prayer for the Cain family, his military family, the Green Berets, and everyone who knew and loved Travis.”
