According to Calera Police, a driver was hurt as he attempted to cross a railroad crossing and was struck by a train. Train accidents are usually very deadly. The unidentified driver has been rushed to the hospital.
The driver was crossing the 20th Avenue railroad crossing, according to officers. At approximately 3:41 p.m., an accident occurred. The train is currently blocking the crossings of 17th, 20th, and 23rd Avenues, as well as Highway 25. Movement around the said areas have been restricted.
A similar incident occurred in Aventura, when two individuals were killed when a faster commuter train collided with their automobile as the driver attempted to round the crossing barrier.
When the car tried to make it through the crossing gate on Thursday morning, the lights were flashing and bells were blaring to alert an impending train, according to police and Brightline railway authorities.
After the collision, the blue Toyota was left damaged on the other side of the road, and two men dead.
