Beloved and Retired Sheriff Tommy Williams died unexpectedly in Jourdanton just before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, the 7th of April 2023. He was announced dead after a lengthy illness. ‘We will miss him tremendously.” Thoughts and prayers to his daughter, Amber, and all his family and friends. Sheriff Williams was a legend in Texas law enforcement and a gentleman to everyone he knew. He will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace Sir.”
Who was Tommy Williams?
Between the years 1973 and 2012, Tommy Williams served as the Sheriff of Atascosa County. Serving the people of Atascosa County, the state of Texas, and the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas was something he took great pride in doing. Should you ever run into each other, he would remember you. He was a wonderful politician, an honest public servant, an outstanding Sheriff, a parent, a spouse, and a manager. He was also a friend to everyone.
When he entered the room, everybody already knew who he was. He was a rough man, but also a man who was held in extremely high regard. Sheriff Williams was well-respected by his peers in the Texas law enforcement community and was known for his gentlemanly demeanour.
He was the one and only Sheriff in all of Atascosa County who truly cared about the people in his community and the surrounding area. He committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. He was a magnificent man who possessed knowledge and grace, but at the same time, he was a stickler for the law and an outstanding sheriff. Tommy was a remarkable individual whose life had an impact on a wide variety of people.
