Death: Man killed in Scappoose police shooting was wanted for Gresham murder – A guy who was shot and killed by police in Scappoose on Thursday was a suspect in a killing four days earlier at a Gresham storage facility. Michael Stockton, 39, was wanted for murder in the March 27 shooting death of Timothy Fowlkes, 25, at Money Saver Mini Storage near Northeast Halsey Street and 192nd Avenue, according to a law enforcement officer.
According to kgw.com, There have been no facts provided about the motive for the shooting. Then, on Thursday, a Columbia County deputy and an Oregon State Police officer were dispatched to Grumpy’s Towing, 53279 Columbia River Highway in Scappoose, for a disturbance.
Stockton allegedly fired multiple shots at the officers, who both returned fire, killing the suspect, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Both officers were unharmed. Investigators discovered two weapons in Stockton’s hands after the shooting.
