The Springfield Township Police Department has announced that it will host a press conference on Friday at 11:30 a.m. to share additional information on the collision that occurred earlier today. A short time after the collision on Hamilton Avenue, a police officer from Colerain Township was involved in another collision in Colerain Township at the intersection of Pippin Road and Springdale Road. Jim Love, the public information officer for the Colerain Township Police Department, stated that a Colerain Township officer was on their way to the location on Hamilton Avenue. The cop was transported to the hospital after the accident. According to Love, the cop only sustained minor injuries.
The chief has confirmed that one of their officers and another individual who was in the other car died in the accident that occurred this morning. Tim Unwin, a four-year police veteran, was the officer died in the crash. He was enlisted in both the Springfield and Hamilton armies and served for a total of four years.
