Austin, Texas – Three people arrested after a murder at North Austin apartment complex: In relation to a murder that occurred in an apartment building in North Austin last month, three persons have been taken into custody. The Austin Police Department reports that shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, shots were heard in the 1700 block of Rutland Drive. Officers were sent to the scene. When the APD got on the scene just before 8:45 p.m., they discovered Lowen Alberto Ordonez Lobo outside The Villas Del Sol condominiums suffering from gunshot wounds.
Lobo passed away at about 8:49 p.m. despite the efforts of the Austin Fire Department, APD, and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services. The getaway driver who left the scene was identified as 22-year-old Jairo Valesquez-Lopez, according to an update provided by the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday, May 14. On May 9, on the 800 block of East Rundberg Lane, he was taken into custody.
The suspected shooter, 20-year-old Giovany Perdomo, also known as “Pero,” was apprehended on May 13 in the 6500 block of Bluff Springs Road. It is alleged that the murder was ordered by 32-year-old Nixon Marquez-Martinez. On May 14, he was taken into custody on the Wells Branch Parkway 2800 block. According to the U.S. Marshals, Marquez-Martinez was also the subject of an administrative warrant from the Department of Homeland Security. The Travis County Jail received a booking for all three of the individuals. As Austin’s 18th homicide of the year, the case is currently under investigation.
