Multiple law enforcement agencies are responding to a report of an active shooter today in Tacoma, Washington. According to reports, the police department in Tacoma is responding to an active shooter report at a business located in S J. St. and an Incident reported at Martin Luther King Jr Way & S 19th St. area today Wednesday, July 6th, 2022. According to authorities, out of an abundance of caution, the St. Joseph Medical Center has been placed on immediate lockdown.
MAIN REPORT – Officers of the Tacoma Police Department are at the scene of a shooting incident reported at the intersection of 21st between Ainsworth and Cushman. According to the report, responding officers have formed a scene outside of a gas station where bullets were fired, according to a tweet that was sent out by the Tacoma Police Department. It is not known whether this incident is connected to the shooting of a 14-year-old boy at 1951 S Ainsworth Ave. that took place not far away.

At approximately past noon, police received an additional unconfirmed report of multiple shots fired near a business and two unidentified suspects fleeing the scene after the shooting. Multiple police officers responded to the unconfirmed report of multiple shots fired near Ezell’s Famous Chicken. No confirmed victims have been identified in both incidents. It is not known if the 14-year-old’s injuries are serious at this time.
