Authorities say a manhunt is underway for a man who allegedly shot into an occupied CATS bus overnight in Charlotte at the early hours of Wednesday morning
Officers were dispatched to the site at 12:18 a.m. on May 18 after a CATS driver reported that an unknown suspect fired three to four rounds into the bus.
Preliminary investigation shows that the incident occurred at Nations Ford Road and Huntsmoor Drive at bus stop No. 24.There were no passengers on board at the time, and the bus driver was unharmed.

A Black male wearing a dark blue jacket, light blue t-shirt, and blue pants has been identified as the suspect. A backpack was also in the suspect’s possession.
The shooting occurs just months after CATS driver Ethan Rivera was fatally shot while on the job, prompting many CATS employees to demand increased bus safety.
