Stoddard Wells Accident, 2 dead after OHV accident in Apple Valley

Stoddard Wells Accident – On Saturday night, 2nd of July 2022, a 12 year old boy and an 11 year old girl were both struck in an off-road accident in Apple Valley. Report states that the young boy died at the scene of the crash while the little girl was rushed to the hospital after sustaining life threatening injuries. The family has announced that their 11-year-old girl later identified as Christina died at the hospital on Wednesday morning after being on life support. It was reported that the girl had a spinal cord injury.

The accident happened just before 9:00 pm on Saturday. Incident report states that Christina and his brother 12-year-old Jacob were riding their ATV on Stoddard Wells Road when an off-road vehicle described as an orange Side-by-Side UTV, the model year 2019-2022, which was traveling eastbound on Stoddard Wells Road, east of Central Road collided with the ATV the children were riding.

Despite life-saving measures, Jacob was pronounced dead on the scene. Christina was rushed by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital and later flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center for medical treatment. Police said the orange UTV that hit both children is said to be without its hood, which was left at the scene of the crash.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and believes the suspect vehicle is a bright orange 2021 RZR Turbo S or Turbo S4. The department has confirmed that they do have active leads they are looking into and if anyone from the public knows about the accident or thinks they may have information that can help authorities, they are asked to contact the Victorville station at 760-241-1186.
