The Dodge Ram’s unidentified driver collided with an eastbound FedEx freightliner at about 3:30 a.m. on I-94 near Manning Avenue, igniting both of them, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The collision occurred in the westbound lanes intended for eastbound traffic.
The Ram’s driver, who was trapped inside, passed away at the site. A 69-year-old man from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, who was operating the semi was removed from it and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. No other details have been made public.
