Texas safety officials warn teens about the dangers of shooting people with Orbeez guns
On Thursday, Southlake DPS issued a warning regarding Orbeez toy firearms to parents and teenagers. In a thread on Twitter, Southlake DPS stated that it had received eight reports since February employing Orbeez guns, in which teens had shot gel balls at either unaware bystanders or moving cars. According to Southlake DPS, the gel balls have occasionally been chilled to make them hit harder and hurt more. “This is not ok. It’s dangerous, and it’s also a crime,” in the thread, the department tweeted.
According to the agency, Town Square was the location of five of the eight calls Southlake DPS has received. They gave the warning as an opportunity for parents to sit down with their teenagers as well as because it is a criminal.
