Sonja Doughty Death – Sonja Doughty, the Former principal at Catholic School has passed away suddenly. Sonja Doughty, a resident of Wausau, Wisconsin was announced dead on the 9th of September 2023. She died at the age of 58. Sonja always had a big smile on her face and her laugh was so infectious. Thoughts and prayers are with her colleagues, friends, family, and community during this difficult time.

Who was Sonja Doughty?
Sonja was born on July 7, 1965, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Carol & Henry Pheifer. Sonja earned her Early Childhood Special Education degree from UW Eau Claire and married Donovan, the love of her life, in 1988. She initially worked as a Special Education Teacher for several years before dedicating her time to raising their children.
As her children grew older, Sonja rekindled her teaching career in Early Childhood Education, eventually transitioning into the role of a Catholic School Principal. Throughout this period, she continued to make a profound impact on numerous students and educators. During this time, Sonja and Donovan lovingly raised four children.
Her children fondly remember Sonja as a kind, patient, and driven mother who always encouraged them to pursue their dreams. She was a generous and dedicated individual who had a passion for teaching, aiding others, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Sonja was an active and devoted member of the Catholic Church, leaving a lasting legacy in her community.

She was predeceased by: her father Henry Pheifer. She is survived by: her husband Donovan Doughty; her children, Joshua Doughty, Kaitlin Zydowsky (David), Hanna Doughty, and Becca Doughty (Matthew); her sister Jennifer Stamm; her grandchildren, Louie Zydowsky and Annabelle Zydowsky; and her mother Carol Pheifer.
Sonja Doughty Obituary
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM at the St. Olaf Catholic Church (3220 Monroe St, Eau Claire, WI 54703). A mass will be held on Friday, September 15th, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
