Shooting in Providence RI today, 2 men shot at Providence food mart in Rhode Island – Providence police are investigating after two men were reportedly shot outside a food Mart Wednesday night. The shooting occurred off Tom’s Food Mart on Chalkstone Avenue around 7 p.m. Police were called to the area in reference to a shooting report. Upon arrival, officers found two males suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to police officers. the injuries are non-life-threatening. Officers are yet to reveal any information about the suspect. The victim is believed to have been shot in Cranston after being stabbed in Providence, as stated by Major Todd Patalano of the Cranston Police Department. Patalano stated that the victim and the suspect knew each other, that the crime is an isolated one, and that it is not connected to any similar occurrences that have taken place in the region.
Along Dyer Street and Prudence Avenue, which run along to the city boundary, police officers from both Providence and Cranston have set a perimeter. Investigation is actively ongoing. Further deatails will be updated when it becomes available.
