Woman Killed In Fatal Car Accident, Pushes 2-Year Old To Safety: Michigan’s Oceana County (AP) – An out-of-control car plowed into a Michigan lady at a drag racing event, according to the police, but she managed to shove her 2-year-old daughter to safety in the moments before the incident.
According to MLive.com, the collision occurred on Sunday in Silver Lake State Park Sand Dunes in western Oceana County, some 270 miles (430 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. Authorities said that after losing control of the modified Jeep CJ and veering off the racing strip into the crowd, the driver struck another car, which then struck Pierson resident Kadie Price, 33, who was watching the event.
Just before she was struck, Price moved her 2-year-old daughter to safety, saving her from severe harm or worse, according to the police. Price passed very soon after the collision. An investigation is ongoing.
