Second Suspect In Double-Murder Outside Lincoln Strip Club Apprehended: A second suspect has been apprehended in connection with the murder of two men outside a strip club in Lincoln, Nebraska, last Saturday. Darious Fletcher, 32, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Lancaster County Jail. Fletcher faces three felony charges, including two counts of accessory to first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. Officers located and arrested Fletcher without incident near 10th and A streets on Tuesday evening.
The primary suspect, Christopher Johnson, 32, is accused of fatally shooting 39-year-old Carlos Silva and 40-year-old Terrell Jones. Johnson was tracked down by investigators to Omaha, where he was arrested following a brief foot pursuit on Tuesday. He is currently held at the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of use of a firearm to commit a felony. Johnson is expected to be extradited back to Lancaster County in the near future.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, prompting first responders to rush to The Office Gentlemen’s Club located near South Folsom Street and West Prospector Court after reports of a shooting. According to Lincoln Police, the shooting was preceded by a verbal altercation outside the club. LPD Captain Ben Miller stated that the entire incident was captured on surveillance video. “Johnson then approaches Silva and they begin a discussion near the front doors of the building, while Fletcher starts talking to Jones who sits in a vehicle,” Miller explained.
“Moments later, Johnson pulls out a handgun and shoots Silva multiple times, causing him to fall back inside the building. Johnson then turns and begins firing at Jones, who is still in the car. As Jones exits the vehicle, Johnson continues to fire. Johnson then reenters his vehicle, and Fletcher drives the two away from the scene.” Both Silva and Jones were transported to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
This case remains under active investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the tragic shootings. Lincoln Police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward to aid in their ongoing efforts. The community remains in shock as they process the violent loss of two lives and await further developments in the judicial proceedings against the suspects.
