Scott Cartwright Death – Scott Cartwright of Holbrook, formerly of Randolph, passed away at his home surrounded by family on July 13, 2022, at the age of 66. Scott died after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Brockton and lived in Holbrook where he grew up and graduated from Holbrook High School in 1974.

He completed training to become a funeral director and embalmer soon after graduating from high school. He and his brother, Brad, ran the funeral homes in Randolph and Holbrook as well as Cartwright-Venuti in Braintree for more than four decades. He previously served as president of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association. For more than two decades, he led the board at Randolph’s Turner Free Library as chairman. The Kiwanis Club of Braintree once had him as its president.

He wed his high school sweetheart on August 28, 1982, after meeting her in 1980. In August of this year, Scott and Kathy would have celebrated 40 years of marriage. His two daughters both attended Ursuline Academy in Dedham, and he coached the varsity girls’ golf team there for nearly a decade.

He and his kid had a great time together on all the Boy Scout camping trips they went on. He held a pilot’s license for numerous years, which he used to bring friends and family amazing experiences. In Milton, where he lived, he was a golfing enthusiast and honorary member of Wollaston Golf Club. He and his loved ones often gathered at West Falmouth to play cards, go fishing, or go golfing. Scott’s kind heart, hilarious personality, and compassionate nature will long be remembered.

Scott was the beloved and devoted husband to his wife and love of his life, Kathleen “Kathy” (Howlett) Cartwright. Loving father of Lauren R. Buoniconti and her husband Brian of Randolph, Scott F. Cartwright and his longtime companion Vasillis Ioannou of Boston, Emily Cartwright Ph.D. and her husband Ryan Martinez, MD Ph.D. of Minneapolis. Brother of Walter R. Cartwright, Jr. and his wife Ruth of Boynton Beach and Brad J. Cartwright and his wife Maryellen of Braintree. Dear “Papa” of Zoe and Owen Buoniconti both of Randolph and Jonas Martinez of Minneapolis. Loving uncle of Walter R. Cartwright III, Patrick McNamara, Christopher McNamara, Andrew Howlett, Julianna Howlett, Emma Howlett, Ryan DiCenzo, Danielle DiCenzo, Erin DiCenzo, and grand-nephew Walter R. Cartwright IV.
