San Antonio Active Shooter Today — Police confirmed that a mass evacuation took place at a nursing school in San Antonio on Thursday, April 13, 2023, as a result of an apparent fake call. San Antonio Police responded to a report of an active shooter at the Galen College of Nursing School in the 7400 block of John Smith in the Medical Center neighborhood at a little after 10 a.m. Police said afterward that the evacuation looked to be the result of a hoax call after they investigated the premises and discovered no evidence of any gunfire.
Police advised students to leave the school while holding up their hands as a precaution, and students could be seen leaving the facility. The source of the call was still unknown.

According to court records obtained by MySA, the San Antonio man in his 50s who is suspected of shooting two of his children as well as his ex-wife on Monday night, April 10, is being charged with the capital murder of a child under the age of 10 as well as two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect is also facing charges related to the shooting of his ex-wife.
The suspect in the shooting, Stephen Clare, is still being held in custody at this time. For the aggravated assault, the bonds were each set at $250,000, and KSAT stated that the total amount of the bonds was $2 million. The preliminary hearing is set for the 10th of May. According to the findings of the investigation, Clare also raised doubts about the woman’s children’s biological father. The wedding took place in June 2021, but by January 2022, the couple had already divorced.
In February of the previous year, Clare’s now ex-wife submitted a divorce petition, citing a clash of personalities as the reason for doing so. At the end of December 2022, the divorce was finally formalized. According to the report, the woman did not submit any orders of protection to the court. According to the news organization’s report, the woman underwent surgery on Monday and is expected to recover from her injuries.
