Sam Vining Death — Samuel Michael Vining “Sam,” a resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and an employee at Amazon Fulfillment Jobs passed away tragically on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023. He was 31 years old at the time. He was announced dead by his beloved mother Kathy L Vining on Thursday, July 27th, through a social media publication that says “My sweet son was killed in a car accident this past weekend. My heart is broken, but my strength is in our God. His service is this Friday, July 28th.”

18 miles west of Kadoka, a crash claimed the life of a man from Sioux Falls. On Saturday, July 22 at 9:39 p.m., Samuel Vining, 31, of Sioux Falls, died as a result of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision. Vining was traveling eastbound on I-90 in the westbound lane of his 2020 Hyundai Elantra. Near milepost 134 on I-90’s westbound lanes, a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country and a Hyundai collided head-on. Vining had a seatbelt on.
The Chrysler’s 24-year-old Wisconsin resident driver was sent to the Philip Hospital with critical but non-life-threatening wounds. The Chrysler’s passenger, a 22-year-old Wisconsin resident from Gile, was transported by EMS to a hospital in Rapid City after suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They both had seatbelts on. I-90 was shut down due to the collision for almost two hours, and traffic was diverted. The crash is being looked into by the SDHP.
Who was Sam Vining?
Samuel Michael Vining, affectionately known as Sam was from Bixby, Oklahoma born on April 17, 1992. He went to Union High School class of 2010 and also attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, according to his social media profile. Sam worked as a Chef at Savastano’s Pizzeria from 2011 to 2014 and also worked as a Patient Access Representative at Hillcrest Medical Center from July 2016 to November 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sam was currently employed with Amazon Fulfillment Jobs. He was a loving son to Kathy L Vining and a caring brother to Casey Vining and Tyler Vining.
Funeral arrangements: A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 28, 2023, at Rivercrest Chapel, Bixby, Oklahoma. The family will release Sam Vining’s obituary at a later date.
