Who was Sam Knight?
Sam Knight emerged as the mastermind behind the groundbreaking Australian cycling brand known as Jigsaw Jumps. This venture sprouted during the COVID-19 pandemic when the demand for both entertainment and exercise during lockdowns prompted Sam to create his initial ‘backyard’ prototype in July 2020. This marked a significant step forward in turning one of his numerous inventions into a tangible reality.
With a lifelong passion for cycling, Sam’s concept centered on crafting modular, portable ramps for bike enthusiasts. His homemade prototype jump quickly garnered attention when he tested it in a local park, attracting curious kids who encouraged him to delve into the realms of commercial feasibility, production capacity, and market demand.

In what seemed like a daring leap into the unknown, Sam bid farewell to his role as an environmental consultant in late 2020 and relocated to Warburton, where he could devote his undivided attention to his entrepreneurial idea. This move allowed him to immerse himself in the lifestyle, community, and cycling prospects the region had to offer. Sam’s involvement in an incubator community proved invaluable, providing him with valuable insights, connections, support, and mentorship.
Sam took pride in adopting a ‘locally sourced’ philosophy, which involved obtaining materials from sustainable Australian pine plantations and devising clever solutions for packaging and transporting his products when disassembled, such as utilizing Australian-made Shockloc straps. In the future, he plans to create employment opportunities for residents, further cementing his commitment to the community.
