Sam Armanino Death – California Photographer and Videographer Sam Armanino of South Lake Tahoe has sadly passed away. He died after being involved in a mountain biking accident on Thursday 31st August 2023 leaving those that knew him devastated. He was confirmed dead through a post made on Tuesday 5th September 2023 that reads “It is with the HEAVIEST and SADDEST of hearts that we share that our CMP Family has lost one of its own. Sam Armanino, CMP Class of 2009, passed far too soon/young on 8/31 in a mountain biking accident”.

Born and raised in Northern California, he embarked on his educational journey, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Humboldt State University. It was during his time there that he developed a profound passion for crafting narratives in the most imaginative and innovative ways imaginable. When not immersed in his projects, he devoted his free moments to pursuits such as skiing, mountain biking, and relishing the great outdoors with close friends. Following his graduation from college, he embarked on a career as a dedicated crime reporter for the local newspaper.

His dedication and talent were recognized at the 2017 California College Media Association awards, where he achieved notable accolades.

Notably, he claimed the title of Best Non-News Video for his compelling creation, “Humboldt Climbing Competition,” and also secured the Best Sports Photograph award for his captivating image of a snowboarder executing a breathtaking backflip. Furthermore, Armanino’s creative prowess extended to the realm of visual storytelling, earning him a commendable second place in the Best Photo Illustration category for the evocative narrative, “Stop Touching My Hair!” Additionally, his commitment to quality journalism shone through as he clinched the award for Best News Series with his thought-provoking “Swelling Enrollment” series.
