Ryton Fire, Rescue team on scene as large blaze breaks out in Gateshead

Fire in Ryton – Following a fire incident in Ryton, the fire service and rescue team were sent out to the scene of the fire incident to a town in England. The fire incident was reported to the rescue team on Wednesday afternoon, August 10th, 2022. The fire was noticed at the Ryton Willows area of Gateshead and the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service were present at the scene of the fire incident. The team received tons of calls about the fire incident in Ryton even while the team was heading to the scene.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service representative while addressing the resident of the area about their safety and the weather situation that has been causing fire outbreak at the slightest spark stated that “We are experiencing a large number of calls about a fire in Ryton Willows which is visible on the other side of the River. We have appliances on scene but avoid the area if possible. We know it’s hot but please keep your windows and doors closed.”

The large blaze in Ryton Willows area of Gateshead was put out by the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service after some hours of the team’s arrival. The incident caused a lot of calls to TWFRS and visible smoke throughout the city, the smoke can be seen from far distance. It was eventually discovered that the fire is a grass fire.

However the fire service pleaded with people not to burn bonfires or use BBQs in grassy areas, warning that dry conditions do lead to flames spreading swiftly so we need your help to avoid them. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service while addressing the resident about the fire incident stated that “dry conditions do lead to fires spreading rapidly so we need your help to prevent them. We are experiencing a large number of calls about a fire in Ryton Willows which is visible on the other side of the River.”

Even though the fire was discovered to be a grassfire, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service in their twitter post confirmed that the area was hot and urged people to keep your windows and doors closed until the fire was eventually put off. No injury was recorded.
