An accident that occurred close to a commercial park just south of Columbus was responsible for the death of at least one individual. The collision took place just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday close to the intersection of Spiegel Drive and Alum Creek Drive, which is located close to Rickenbacker International Airport.
During the collision, a sedan and two tractor trailers were involved. It all started when one of the semis tried to turn right off Alum Creek into Spiegel. The car that was following it was unable to come to a complete stop in time, so its driver attempted to go around it. This is when it collided with the other semi.
The driver of the vehicle was found dead at the scene. The identity of that person was not made public straight away. The sheriff’s office reported that witnesses said the car was traveling erratically, and they described it as a reckless vehicle. Because the sedan was in such poor condition, she decided not to display it during her live report from the site at 12:30 p.m. because she felt it would be inappropriate.
