Ruth Davenport Death – Obituary unavailable at the moment: An 85-year-old woman was hit by a car on Rochdale Road East on Thursday, prompting emergency services to respond. The woman, now known as Ruth Davenport, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died as a result of her injuries.
According to manchestereveningnews.co.uk, The name of a senior who died after being hit by a car in Heywood has been released. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said at the time that the driver of a Mercedes stayed at the site to talk with officers. There have been no arrests.
“Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are looking for information following the death of an 85-year-old woman in a road traffic collision in Heywood,” a GMP spokeswoman said. The woman was hit by a car on Rochdale Road East around 1.20 p.m. on Thursday, March 17th, and died later in hospital.
Mrs Davenport’s death file has been handed over to Rochdale Coroners’ Court. At a later date, an inquest will be held.
