Death: Businessman Killed In Crowell Plane Crash – Ronny Baize, a famous Crowell businessman and past candidate for County Judge, died in the plane crash on Thursday, along with his 35-year-old nephew Zane Baize of Kissimmee, Florida, according to the Department of Public Safety.
According to newschannel6now.com, Zane and other family members had traveled up from Florida for Ronny’s son’s wedding, which was set to take place on Sunday. Family members informed News Channel 6 that the couple chose to fly together on March 31 because of the beautiful weather and the fact that other family members were watching from the ground.
Ronny’s brother saw and remarked about 20 minutes into the trip that the other man appeared to be straining at the controls of the plane, which subsequently fell into a nosedive. The plane was traveling at a low altitude when a gust of wind pulled it to the ground, where it caught fire, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The plane crashed near County Road 411 and County Road 415, northwest of Crowell, around 9:40 a.m., according to DPS.
