Ronald Hettich, Man Driving Over 100 MPH Causing Car Accident That Killed Couple

Death: In a crash in Mesa that killed an elderly couple, a man was speeding over 100 miles per hour – After allegedly speeding down a Mesa roadway and causing a fatal crash, a 21-year-old man is facing charges. Emergency responders were dispatched to the vicinity of Windsor and Main Street in Mesa about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for reports of an accident. Police claim a 2009 Chrysler 300C and a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica were involved in the first inquiry.

According to abc15.com, Ronald Hettich, an 82-year-old male passenger on the Pacifica, died at the scene. Irma Hettich, Ronald’s wife, was identified as the driver and was transferred to a hospital, where she died. Gezane Izreal Cabanillas-Lape, 21, was the driver of the Chrysler 300C and was not seriously injured.

A 21-year-old lady, his passenger, was rushed to the hospital with suspected abdominal injuries. Hettich’s vehicle was going north on Windsor, crossing Main Street, when Cabanillas-vehicle Lape’s collided with the passenger side of Hettich’s vehicle, according to police.
