Ron Blessing, owner of Blue Print Engines in Kearney, was killed by a runaway bulldozer on Wednesday morning. The accident reportedly occurred at about 10:33 a.m. at Blueprint Engines, 2915 Marshall Ave., Kearney.
According to preliminary evidence, Ron Blessing, 72, owner of Blessing Construction in Kearney, was unintentionally knocked over when he was operating the bulldozer, to dig for Blueprint’s expansion.
After the accident, the bulldozer drove south through a field for about a quarter-mile before getting stuck in the north ditch along Coal Chute Road west of Blue Print Engines. Unfortunately, Blessing died on the way to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Blessing family, Blessing Construction, and all those impacted by this awful accident,” stated Kearney Police Chief Bryan D. Waugh.
The family of Blessing must be devastated at his sudden passing, and need your prayers and support at this time.
The Kearney Police Department/Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Team is still investigating.
