Roger Thurgood Death – Provo High School Alumnus Roger Thurgood of Spanish Fork, Utah has sadly passed away. He died on Monday 24th July 2023 at the age of 58 leaving his family and friends in shock and disbelief. He was confirmed dead through various publications made on Facebook. Roger Thurgood Birth and Education
Roger was born on February 18, 1965, in Provo, Utah, to parents Ronald Dee Thurgood and Jacklyn Kay Cox. His early years were spent in Provo until his parents’ divorce, after which his mother, Jacklyn, married John Hinckley. Consequently, Roger and his siblings, three brothers, and one sister, along with numerous cousins, were raised on the Hinckley Farm located in west Provo. Those days on the farm hold some of Roger’s most cherished memories.
For his education, Roger attended Provo High School where he actively participated in the FFA (Future Farmers of America) and was also an engaged member of the South Utah County Rodeo Club. Throughout high school and beyond, he and his buddies traveled to various rodeo events, fueling their passion for the sport.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Holt Thurgood, his children, Tucker (Mandi) Thurgood and Tyree (Joshua) Baird. By his grandchildren, Dallas Thurgood, Hagen Thurgood, Harper Baird, and Berkley Baird. He is also survived by his father, Ronald (Becky) Thurgood, by his dad, John Hinckley, and by his brothers, Randy Hinckley, Chad Hinckley, and John Hinckley, and his sister, Annie Robichaux. Roger is also survived by his many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Roger was preceded in death by his grandson, Everret Jameson Baird, and by his mother, Jackie Hinckley.

There will be a visitation Friday evening, July 28, 2023, where family and friends may gather at the LDS Church on 381 East 400 North, Spanish Fork, Utah, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Another visitation will be held Saturday morning, July 29, 2023, from 9:30 a.m.– 10:45 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Following that visitation, a funeral service will be held, also at the funeral home, starting at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023. Interment will be at Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah.
